Yum Jung Ah adalah aktris kelahiran Kota Seoul.
Dia memiliki seorang adik perempuan bernama Yum Jung Yeon.
Jung Ah menikah pada tahun 2006 dengan seorang dokter dan kini memiliki 2 orang anak.
Jung Ah menempuh pendidikan di Sangmyung Girls’ High School dan Chung-Ang University untuk jurusan Theater and Film.
Dia menganut kepercayaan Protestan.
Debut nya dalam dunia hiburan pada tahun 1991 adalah melalui ajang kecantikan Miss Korea dan dia terpilih sebagai pemenang nya.
Sejak muda, Jung Ah memang sudah memiliki mimpi untuk menjadi aktris.
Drama debutnya berjudul Our Paradise (1991).
Yum Jung Ah pernah berpacaran dengan aktor Jang Dong Gun pada tahun 1990an.
Dalam suatu acara bincang-bincang tahun 2014, Jung Ah pernah berkata bahwa dia ingin menantang dirinya untuk menjadi dubber program anime demi anak-anaknya.
Selain akting, Yum Jung Ah juga dapat menyanyi dengan baik.
Pada tahun 1993, Jung Ah juga pernah tampil dalam sebuah teater musikal berjudul Beauty and the Beast.
Jung Ah menjadi panutan untuk aktris Oh Na Ra.
Jung Ah berkata bahwa dia menyukai boy group BTS karena anak perempuannya menyukai mereka.
Yum Jung Ah pernah menjadi duta untuk beberapa hal. Antara lain Children’s rights ambassador in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do (2015), Hwaseong City Ambassador (2015), Gyeonggi Police Ambassador (2013), dan World Fencing Championships Honorary Ambassador (1999).
Bahkan hingga saat ini, Jung Ah masih menjadi duta untuk Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation Korea.
